Cape Winelands Netball Team Wins

The Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) was thrilled to hear that the Cape Winelands netball team won the 2021 SPAR National Netball Championship. 

The team were crowned the champions after a phenomenal performance and victory against Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) 66-54 in the final held at Hoërskool DF Malan in December 2021. 

To celebrate this win, Cllr Koos Steyn (Portfolio holder; Sport, CWDM), met with representatives from the CWD Netball Federation.  During their meeting he shared the Executive Mayor’s best wishes and concluded by stating, “Developing sport amongst our youth is a priority of the CWDM, and it brings me great pleasure to know that this win will surely kindle a new interest in netball for many, young and old. We look forward to joining hands in our endeavours to develop netball and sport in general in our district”
